Mentoring for Nail Techs

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you're figuring this out alone? You don't have to.

Mentoring with me is a calm, supportive space for new and growing nail techs who want help with the real-life side of nails — from theory and application to clients, policies, and business.

Together, we'll look at where you're at, what's feeling hard or confusing, and what you want your career to actually look like.

This is for you if you're ready for honest feedback, practical guidance, and someone in your corner while you figure things out — not just more random tips on the internet.

What We Can Work On Together

Every tech is different, so no two mentoring plans look exactly the same. Here are some of the areas we can focus on:

  • Foundations & Theory

    • Nail anatomy and disorders

    • Sanitation and safe practices

    • Product understanding and choosing what to invest in

  • Application & Technique

    • Prep and structured gel application

    • Working with different nail types and lengths

    • Troubleshooting lifting, chipping, or shape issues

  • Client Experience

    • Consultations and setting expectations

    • Boundaries, policies, and tricky conversations

    • Building trust and long-term client relationships

  • Business & Confidence

    • Pricing and raising your rates

    • Setting up or refining your systems

    • Mindset, confidence, and feeling like a “real” nail tech

If you're not sure exactly what you need yet, that's okay — we can figure it out together.

Mentoring Options

You can book a single session for something specific, or choose a bundle if you know you’d like ongoing support.

  • Tier 2 — Focused Foundations – 2-Session Bundle — $220

Great if you want to tighten up a few key areas with time to practice in between. We'll decide together what to focus on and build from there.

  • Tier 3 — Glow-Up Mentoring – 3-Session Bundle — $320

Ideal if you want support across both technique and business, with each call building on the last and room to check in on your progress.

  • Tier 4 — Business & Technique Deep Dive – 5-Session Bundle — $520

For techs who are ready to treat this like a true mentorship container and refine everything from application and client experience to policies, pricing, and business basics.

Not sure which option fits? Send me a message and we'll figure it out together — no commitment needed.

Why Work With Me

I've spent 7+ years behind the nail table and built my business from the ground up — no connections, no shortcuts. I've made the mistakes, figured out the fixes, and learned what actually works when it comes to technique, clients, and running a business that doesn't burn you out.

I mentor from real experience, not textbooks. When we work together, you're getting someone who genuinely gets it and wants to see you win.

How Mentoring Works

I want mentoring to feel clear and low-pressure, not intimidating. Here's what the process looks like:

Step 1 — You reach out You tell me a bit about your experience level, what you're struggling with, and what you'd like support with.

Step 2 — We choose the right option Based on what you share, I'll recommend either a single session or a bundle, and whether online or in-person makes the most sense.

Step 3 — We book your sessions We'll find times that work for both of us and I'll send you a quick outline of what we'll focus on in each call.

Step 4 — We meet and work through things together Sessions are a mix of teaching, discussion, and practical guidance — with space for your questions and real-life examples.

Step 5 — You get follow-up notes or homework (as needed) Sometimes I'll give you things to try, reflect on, or adjust between sessions so you can see real changes in your work and business.

Mentoring FAQ

  • No. Mentoring is for new and growing nail techs at all stages — from “I’m just starting and feel lost” to “I’ve been doing this a while but feel stuck.” You don’t have to be at a specific level before reaching out.

  • Absolutely. That’s actually when mentoring can help the most. You don’t need to have everything figured out or be “good enough” first — we can work through the uncertainty, questions, and messy middle together.

  • You don’t have to decide that on your own. In your inquiry, share what you’re struggling with and what you’d like support with, and I’ll recommend what I think makes the most sense — whether that’s one focused session or a few calls together.

  • Yes — if you’re local to Kelowna, in-person mentoring may be an option depending on availability and what you’d like to work on. In your inquiry, just let me know if you prefer online, in-person, or either.

  • No pressure! Send me an email at totallypolished2019@gmail.com , or reach out on IG @totally___polished if you want to chat about it beforehand!

  • It's a mix of teaching, troubleshooting, and real talk — not a lecture. You can bring questions, show me your work, walk through client situations, or just tell me what's feeling hard. I'll give you honest feedback, practical next steps, and things to try before our next session. Think of it like a strategy call with a friend who's been where you are.
