Nail tech, educator, and the person behind Totally Polished.
I’m Amelie, a gel nail tech and educator based in Kelowna, BC. Since starting Totally Polished in 2019, I’ve built a business around creative work, personal connection, and helping people feel comfortable asking questions.
Before nails, I worked in the automotive industry. After becoming a mom, I wanted a career with more room for creativity and connection. That change led me to nails—and eventually to sharing what I’ve learned with other nail techs.
Today, I work with clients in my studio and support nail techs through courses, practical resources, and 1:1 mentoring. Whether you’re here for your next set or figuring out your next step, I want you to feel welcome, informed, and supported.
How Totally Polished started
Totally Polished started in 2019 as a way to find something that felt like me. Nails gave me a creative outlet, but it was the everyday work that made me fall in love with it: the careful prep, the satisfaction of a finished set, and the relationships growing across my nail desk.
The path wasn’t a straight line. After moving from Edmonton to Kelowna in 2022, I spent a year back in the automotive industry. An injury and some time away gave me space to reconsider what I wanted, and I decided to put my energy into nails again.
Once my daughter was back in school, I rebuilt my clientele and became fully booked within three months. Starting again taught me a lot about running a business alongside developing my skills.
Those experiences shape what I share through Totally Polished today: practical lessons from working with clients, building a business, and figuring things out along the way.

Outside the studio
Away from the nail desk, I’m a wife, a mom, and an animal lover. Life is full with my family and our pets, and making time for them matters to me.
I love living in the Okanagan, especially when summer means beach days, camping, and getting out on my paddleboard.
I’m still figuring out the balance between a business I love and knowing when to close the laptop. Building something that leaves room for life outside work is a big part of what I’m working towards.
